Canberra is de-frosting, the flowers are blooming and the days are growing warmer as we head towards my absolute favourite time of the year – Summer! Not only do we have swimming, picnics, long walks (Rupert’s favourite) and basking in the sun to look forward to but warmer days mean we can finally remove all of those Winter layers and get excited about a new Spring wardrobe of clothing!
This season has seen a full on revival of the 70’s and denim and white lace are a plenty. Separately they are two timeless style trends but together they are a dreamy combination of feminine elegance with a laid-back edge. Spruce up your wardrobe this Spring by combining these textures to create an effortless (and reasonably priced!) new look.
A denim jacket should be a staple in your wardrobe for those surprisingly chilly nights and varying Spring weather. Pair it with a cute off-shoulder dress with lace detail and sandals for the perfect casual weekend outfit or dress it up with some accessories and wedges to wear out on the town.
Denim shorts are one of my favourite warm weather essentials. Add a more flirty and feminine touch by combining with lace textures such as a lace crop or lace detailing on the shorts themselves.
I picked up all of these pieces for less than $70 each at Dotti, Ally Fashion and Cotton On so it’s easy enough to achieve a fresh look for Spring even if you are on a budget. The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy the new season and warm weather in style.
