IMG_3520They All Hate Us began as a space for two best friends Tash Sefton & Elle Ferguson to share their love for fashion, inspiration and aspirations. 8 years on and They All Hate Us has become a first stop for the latest fashion trends for hundreds of thousands of devoted readers and Instagram followers.

Thanks to So Frank I was lucky enough to score a double pass to the media event for a fashion workshop with the lovely Tash Sefton & Elle Ferguson themselves last Saturday. To say I was excited about attending is a bit of an understatement! Not only am I excited about the end of jacket weather and the new Spring/Summer seasonal trends but I have been looking for some motivation to finally get my own blog up and running. If these two amazing girls can’t inspire me to get started then I am not sure who can!

Tash & Elle’s fashion workshop was held on Saturday 26 September 2015 at the Canberra Centre with drinks provided by QT Canberra and some absolutely delicious (and gorgeous!) catering from Cream Bar and Cafe.

Catering by Cream Cafe & BarThe workshop consisted of an hour long Q&A session with Tash & Elle led by Sarah Kelly from My Fashion Empire about the trends for this season, some helpful styling tips as well as a few insights on the fashion blogger world and the behind the scenes of They All Hate Us.

Tash & Elle were themselves dressed by David Jones in the latest seasonal trends and presented three outfits showcasing a number ofย  versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched to create multiple outfits. This season is all about the 70’s inspired flare jeans, denim, white shirts and curls and you could certainly see this in the outfits Tash & Elle put together for us.

IMG_3978During the Q&A session it was easy to see why the duo have such a huge and devoted following. Both Tash & Elle are completely relatable, down to earth and plain lovely human beings. All of their styling tips and advice were very practical and affordable which is always refreshing for those of us with a love for fashion but limited funds. It is very nice to hear from one of Australia’s biggest style influencers that with simple variations it is ok to wear your favourite item over and over again if it looks good, that you don’t have to wear designer brands to be fashionable and that with a few wardrobe essentials such as a white shirt, blazer and denim shorts you can look fantastic.

As well as leaving me inspired to start hunting for some new Spring/Summer pieces, the most important piece of inspirational advice I gained from the workshop was to blog about what you love and simply be yourself. When asked about whether they anticipated their blog taking off as it did and becoming such an international success Tash & Elle said that it just came about naturally through following their passion and doing what they love. I though it was lovely that, even now, with all their success, they still post things for each other on their website just as they did when they first started blogging. This will definitely be something I keep in mind when embarking on my blogging adventure!
