As some of you may know we have recently gone through the joy of packing up and moving house. We are still renting but now have a much bigger space to style which means we are desperately in need of some new furniture. I’m definitely not complaining though – who doesn’t love furniture shopping? I’ve been on the hunt for a new lounge in particular and a few other pieces of furniture for the dining room. So when Amart Furniture contacted me recently about visiting their store here at Fyshwick and reviewing my experience, it really couldn’t have been more perfect timing!

Amart Furniture have only been open in Canberra for less than a year and I hadn’t actually had the opportunity yet to go and check out the store. I was gifted a beautiful scandi-style table from Amart Furniture recently that featured in my living room refresh post here that I really love so I was looking forward to checking out the rest of the range of affordable products. I also had a look through their range on their website and had a few products in mind that I wanted to check out.

The first thing I noticed when walking through the doors was how great their product displays are! All of their display furniture is accessorised with cushions and homewares which is really fantastic for ideas and inspiration for styling a particular piece in your own home.

The lounge was at the top of the list of items of furniture I wanted to buy so after a slight detour through the homewares section (I just can’t help myself!) we made our way to the range of lounges/sofas on display which are conveniently located in the middle of the store. We were immediately greeted by a friendly customer assistant who directed me towards the display of the lounge I had been looking at online here.

The lounge was really comfortable, in the exact colour I was looking for and appeared to be decent quality – basically, I was in love! My partner and I bought a lounge a few years ago really cheap that just hasn’t lasted well so we were on the hunt for something a bit better quality like this one that will last a bit longer. The only problem with the lounge was the configuration. The particular shape of our new lounge room means we need a corner lounge with the chaise on the left and unfortunately the chaise was on the right hand side of the couch.

I was almost considering buying the lounge anyway and trying to make it work, or compromising and purchasing the same style in a 3 seater available here but neither of these options would have been ideal for our lounge room. I was feeling like I was in a bit of a dilemma because I really wanted to go home with a new lounge and this lounge was almost perfect but wasn’t exactly what I was looking for.

Luckily, one of the staff members at Amart Furniture Fyshwick gave me some really amazing and helpful advice. She reminded me that a lounge is one of the most important pieces of furniture in my house that I would be using everyday and I shouldn’t settle or rush into buying something that doesn’t meet all of my requirements because I might end up regretting the purchase. She also pointed me towards a few other options that I might like that came with a reversible chaise and reminded me that Amart Furniture does get new stock in every now and then and to keep an eye out.

It was so refreshing not to have a shop assistant push me to buy something that wasn’t exactly what I was looking for, especially when we are talking about quite a large investment in a lounge! It felt like she had really listened to what I was looking for and was genuinely trying to help me find a product that would suit my home and not just to make a sale. It’s so hard to find amazing customer service like that and I was so impressed I will definitely be heading back next time I need to invest in a new piece of furniture.

Although I didn’t leave with a lounge I did make a pretty large wish list of products I loved that I will definitely be heading back to buy in the near future.
