You know that awful feeling when you want to head out for a fun evening but you have to leave your fur-friend at home? It’s honestly the WORST, especially when you have two dogs and double the sad puppy dog eyes.
Luckily, this isn’t a problem with the American Express Openair Cinema currently screening in Canberra which brings with it the opportunity to view the latest flicks and your classic favourites with your furry friend in a beautiful location right beside Lake Burley Griffin on the Patrick White Laws. We were invited along to the opening night of this year’s season and were so excited to take our furry friends Rupert and Finn along with us to enjoy the PAWfect evening out under the stars.
You can even spoil your doggy date on the evening like the VID (Very Important Dog) they are by booking them a canine couch and a platter of doggy doughnuts from Darby’s Dog Bakery. Rupert and Finn gave the doggy doughnuts a 10/10 although they refused to sit in the perfectly good dog bed provided because #spoilt and if there’s a lap available they must be on it.
For the humans, not only are there some great films screening during the season including The Greatest Showman and Wonder but there is also live entertainment and DJ’s to start the evening. There are plenty of food and drink options available and if you book the Star Lounge you get your own bean lounger, blanket and service direct to your seat. If you are an American Express holder you can also book a special American Express Invites Lounge ticket for a VIP experience.
